Sun Ganlu
Born in 1959, Sun Ganlu is a novelist and playwright as well as a member of the board of directors of the Writers¡¯ Association of Shanghai. A renowned and influential Chinese avant-garde writer, Sun made his literary debut in 1984. He is the recipient of the Shanghai Young Writer¡¯s Award, the Shanghai Literature Award, and the Beijing New World Award. His major works include Breathing, a novel, A Visit to Dream World, a short story collection, and such TV dramas as Dancing on the Ceiling, Dangerous Journey, His Divorce, Peaceful World, and An Evening Bell. His works have been translated into French, English, Japanese, Italian, and Russian.
