He obtained a BA in Russian Language and Literature from Korea University and an MA and PhD from Moscow State University, majoring in the nineteenth century history of Russian literary criticism. He has taught Russian literature at Seoul National University, Korea University and Yonsei University and is currently teaching Courses on literature and medicine at the Catholic University of Korea College of Medicine and Inje University College of Medicine. His articles include ¡°Two Perspectives to Look at Artistic Spaces¡± and ¡°A Study of ¡®Absent Characters¡¯¡±. His translations include Pushkin¡¯s drama, Boris Godunov, a volume of Belinsky¡¯s selected criticisms Typicality, Pathos, Reality, and Bigotsky¡¯s Thought and Language
