Nguyen Ngoc Tu nominated for ASEAN Literature Award

VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnamese Writers¡¯ Association has nominated female writer Nguyen Ngoc Tu for the ASEAN Literature Award 2008 for her contribution to Vietnamese literature in the last ten years.

The award, worth $2,200, will be announced and presented to the writer in late September or early October 2008.

The ASEAN Literature Award is presented to outstanding writers in member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) nominated by member countries.

Previously, Nguyen Khai, Inrasara, Le Van Thao, etc. won this award.

This is the first time the association has nominated a young writer, less than 40 years old, for this award.
