Born in Shanghai in 1970, Zhu Wenying has published many stories including ¡°Aunt Lily¡¯s Small Nambang,¡± ¡°Madam Dai and Blue,¡± and ¡°High Heels.¡±  Her works have been published in many journals and anthologies and some of them have been translated into English, French, Japanese, German and Korean.  Her short story, ¡°Ephemeral Life,¡± was published in MANOA, a literary journal published by the University of Hawaii Press, in its 2005 issue, featuring ¡°Blood Ties: Writing Across Chinese Borders.¡±  Her peers appreciate her ¡°renewal of a refined sensibility characteristic of Southern China.¡±  She is currently serving as the vice chairperson for the Suzhou Writers Association.
