Born in Huaian, Jiangsu province, Chian in 1966, Wu Yiqin is currently working as a deputy director of Modern Chinese Literature Institute, Taishan visiting scholar of Shandong province, vice-president of Chinese Novel Studies Association, vice-president of Chinese Contemporary Literature Studies Association, and member of the Theory & Criticism Committee of Chinese Writers Association. He has published more than two hundred articles in major journals including Literary Criticism, Literary Studies, and Modern Chinese Literary Studies Anthology. His publications also include eight collections of criticisms and he is the recipient of more than ten awards including the Lu Xun Literary Award and the Chongquing Literary Award. He won first place in the category of literary criticism at the Chinese Literature Association competition and in the category of excellent achievement in social science from Shandong province. He was also selected for the New Century Talent Project from Chinese Ministry of Education and as one of ¡®ten excellent professors¡¯ and ¡®the first excellent mentor¡¯ from Shandong province.
