Wang Xiang-yuan is a professor at the School of Chinese Language and Literature, Beijing Normal University. He began his teaching career in 1987, and was exceptionally quickly promoted to the rank of professorship 1996. In 2000, he became a professorial supervisor for the Ph.D. candidates studying comparative literature. He wasis selected to one of ¡°the New Century Talents¡± by the Ministry of Education, China. In 2007, the Ningxia People¡¯s Publishing House published The Collective Works of Wan Xiang-yuan in 10 volumes. His areas of interest are comparative literature, oriental literature, Japanese literature, Sino-Japanese relations and other aspects of teaching and research.
